What
is the TSA?
Trinity School Association (TSA) is a partnership body between parents,
teachers and others associated with the school community. As a parent
or guardian of a child at Trinity C. of E.V.A. Primary School, you are
automatically a member of the TSA while your child is at the school.
It provides the framework for parents to work with the school by actively
participating in the education of their children and helping the school.
It acts as an informal channel of communication between parents and
teachers by holding meetings to discuss areas of interest/concern, raise
funds for the school and hosting social events.
Research clearly shows that support by parents is an important part
of making school a success. The TSA therefore plays a vital part in
your child's education.
Benefits of being involved with the TSA.
The TSA is a very good way to bring together parents, teachers and others
who are interested in supporting the school. It provides an opportunity
for everyone to work together towards common goals. All parents and
teachers can get involved, even if they only have a small amount of
time available.
It can help parents:
- Feel part of
the school community.
- Improve the
school.
- Understand the
school's aims and aspirations.
- Be aware of
the school's needs.
- Find out more
about how the school works.
- Improve ways
of supporting the curriculum at home.
- Get to know
each other - whilst taking part in a range of activities.
- Communicate
their views.
- Fundraise for
extra items or services to enrich the children's education.
It can help children:
- Receive a richer
education as a result of items bought by the TSA.
- Benefit from
their parents increased understanding of the school.
It can help teachers:
Reach potential volunteers and enthusiasts who may help with school
projects.
What
does the TSA do?
The TSA is involved in a large number of school activities including
helping the school, running the school uniform shop and fundraising.
Fundraising helps to pay for those little "extras" that the
children enjoy such as the Christmas tree, providing entertainment and
equipment requested by the school. As the school is Church of England
Voluntary Aided (C. of E.V.A.), it also provides funds necessary to
support the cost of major improvements such as the two new classrooms
and computer facility. Fundraising includes fetes, fairs, quizzes, auctions,
disco's, prize draws and sponsored events. We are always looking for
new ideas and advice for fundraising.
TSA parents regularly help with reading, crafts, swimming and supervising
educational visits. Before and after school hours assistance is given
to cycling proficiency, sports events, the story sack project and clubs.
Social events for parents and children help provide a great opportunity
to meet and get to know each other.
Regular meetings are held to discuss school issues and fundraising activities.
Members are informed about education issues, especially when changes
are taking place.
Without
continued support it will be impossible to continue with the good work
the TSA currently carries out.
If you are interested in either joining the TSA Committee or can help
in some way, please complete the form below and hand it into the school
office.
